I thought I’d show you the progress photos of our pond! We started with just timber and now have a 1 acre pond that is still evolving everyday. One of my favorite parts about it is watching all the different wildlife that show up each season. We’ve seen deer, coyotes, Great Blue Herons, one Little Green Heron, a Solitary Sandpiper, Canada Geese, Nighthawks & so many other birds.
September 2011 – This is the view from our deck looking to the east.
Izzy checking it all out.
Izzy & Jetty playing in their new backyard.
Building up the damn.
We found a natural spring when digging. The dogs jumped right in, of course.

January 2012 – Jetty, freaking me out! Thankfully, the ice was pretty thick. I was still having a heart attack though.
Izzy & Osa taking a cold swim!
Some of our first visitors, a Downy Woodpecker & a Red Bellied Woodpecker.

April 2013 – A huge rainstorm happened this month. The pond was literally overflowing on one side.
A not so great photo of the Green Heron that came to visit.

April 2014 – Adding the fish! G-pa Tony came out to see! 🙂
The Solitary Sandpiper I spotted! The first I had ever seen! I get really excited about birds if you couldn’t tell.
June 2015 – We are so lucky to live here. I’m so grateful every single day.
